
Dubravka Pekanov is a full professor with tenure at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, employed at the Department of Finance and Accounting. Her main research areas are sustainable controlling and energy economics. She teaches several courses at the undergraduate, master's, and university specialist study levels. Individually or co-authored, she has published more than 60 scientific papers and participated in numerous scientific conferences in Croatia and abroad. From 2021 to 2025, she was an associate on the Croatian Science Foundation project entitled "Economic Challenges of Transition Towards Low-Carbon Growth". She is the leader of the project "Integrated Approach to Economic Challenges of the Green Transition" (IPZET), funded under the NextGenerationEU mechanism. As for her professional involvement, she actively prepares feasibility studies (with cost-benefit analysis), investment studies, and development strategies for the needs of the private and public sectors. For example, she participated in the preparation of the study Economic Effects of the Port of Rijeka (2025), the Analysis of Strategic Sectors in the Vukovar-Srijem County (2020), and the Feasibility Study for Granting a Concession to Perform Chimney Sweeping Services in the City of Osijek (2016). She also contributed to the drafting of development strategies for local action groups, such as the strategy of LAG Vuka-Dunav 2014-2020 and 2023-2027, as well as a series of investment studies for enterprises in the region. Since 2019, she has been the head of the lifelong learning programme "Cost-Benefit Analysis", from 2023 to 2026 she served as the head of the Financial Management study track, since 2023 she has been the head of the Center of Business Excellence, and since 2026 she has been the head of the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek.
