Erasmus short-term mobility programmes (Blended Intensive Programmes – BIP) are a new form of mobility within the Erasmus+ programme that combines physical and online teaching. These are short-term training sessions with online and in-person components, which encourage international cooperation and interdisciplinary learning. The programmes include lectures, workshops, and teamwork, often focused on topics such as sustainability, digitalisation, and innovation.
For students, BIP offers the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, develop linguistic and intercultural skills, and earn ECTS credits and international contacts. The physical portion takes place abroad, while the virtual portion is conducted online. The programme is specifically tailored for those who are unable to participate in long-term mobility.
COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) is an innovative and research-validated approach to learning developed in 2006, which is now applied worldwide. It is based on online collaboration between students and teachers from different countries through joint projects and teaching.
COIL programmes enable students to develop key 21st-century skills, such as intercultural communication, remote teamwork and project work, and digital competencies. By integrating COIL into regular courses, active and experiential learning is encouraged, leading to greater student engagement and better preparation for working in a global and multicultural environment.
