Regional Development in Croatia: Development Transition of Slavonia

Glagolitic Hall

Welcome to I. Scientific and professional dialogue of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds which will be held under the title „Regional Development in Croatia: The Developmental Transformation of Slavonia“ on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. Alongside the lead organizer, MRRFEU, the project partners are Faculty of Economics in Osijek (also the host of the event in the Aula Glagoljica), the Institute for Scientific and Artistic Work in Osijek – HAZU, the Croatian Association of Employers, and the Croatian Society of Economists.

Namely, the differences in the development of regions in Croatia are still pronounced, and therefore the future of regional policy and investments from EU funds will be evaluated based on how successful we are in finding development models that will contribute to activating the regional economy, creating better living conditions, as well as using the opportunities offered by the green and digital transitions. This scientific and professional dialogue will seek to stimulate discussion around two key questions:

1) How to establish a regional economic balance?
2) How to measure regional economic success?

To these questions, along with the interested scientific, business, and professional community, Minister Mr. will attempt to answer them. Šime Erlić, MRRFEU, Dean, Mr. Professor, Doctor of Science.
