ONLINE LECTURE FOR STUDENTS: „I think, therefore I overthink – How to deal with anxiety?“

Student life brings numerous changes and challenges – new academic demands, moving to another city, balancing social life and studies, and worrying about one's own future. All of this can increase stress levels and lead to feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or overthinking. That's why taking care of students' mental health is crucial, as a healthy mind enables better learning, productivity, healthier relationships, and resilience to stress.

Following the successful mental health lectures from the UniSport Health series, we're back with a new interactive online gathering for students who want to better understand their own emotions and the mechanisms we use to cope with stress. The lecture titled „I Think, Therefore I Overthink – How to Cope with Anxiety?“ will help participants to:

• define what anxiety is – an emotion, a mood, or a personality trait,
• Learn the mechanisms for avoiding discomfort and rumination through practical examples,
• learn how to more effectively regulate unpleasant emotions,
• gain insight into strategies that help cope with anxiety.

The lecture will be given by Lucija Paić Gotovac, M.A. in Psychology, from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Prevention at the National Institute of Public Health „Dr. Andrija Štampar.“.
