Introduction

The goal of the studies is the development of responsible and independent (young) people with a developed business and economic way of thinking and leadership skills ready to face the challenges of the development of society and economy in a global environment.

The study aims to develop an appropriate ratio of theoretical and practical knowledge in business economics, through a combination of an interdisciplinary approach, active learning and targeted personal development, which enables the development of student skills, knowledge and competencies, necessary to become successful business leaders of tomorrow.

It is defined in the learning outcomes of the study that the student, after completing the study, will be able to do the following:

  1. Acquire a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and competencies in business economics, through a combination of an interdisciplinary approach, active learning and personal development, necessary to become successful business leaders of tomorrow.
  2. Able to understand, analyze and solve complex business problems in a global context.
  3. Know how to integrate quantitative and qualitative analyses with the aim of proposing and presenting strategic and financial decisions, which lead to the realization of the set goals of the organization.
  4. Have the necessary digital competencies to successfully overcome challenges in a global environment.

Svaki smjer diplomskog sveučilišnog studija Poslovna ekonomija, uz zajedničke ishode učenja cijelog studija, razvija i specifične ishode učenja, fokusirane na razvoj specifičnih znanja i vještina, povezanih s područjem, kojim se bavi.

Teaching at the study is conducted over 4 semesters. The distribution of ECTS credits is indicated below:

  • 30 ECTS credits are acquired in six compulsory courses that are offered in all majors that have a common content and cover the areas of managerial economics, research methods, leadership, project management, controlling and strategic management. With these courses, most of the joint learning outcomes of all majors are achieved.
  • 90 ECTS are distributed among majors, and the distribution of ECTS credits across semesters is made as follows:
  • In the first semester:
    • 15 ECTS credits are acquired through the common content in all majors (three courses) in the field of managerial economics, research methods and leadership.
    • 15 ECTS credits are distributed among the compulsory courses of the major.
  • In the second semester:
    • 10 ECTS credits are acquired through the common content in all courses (two courses) in the field of project management and controlling.
    • 20 ECTS credits are distributed among the compulsory courses of the major.
  • In the third semester:
    • 5 ECTS credits are acquired through the common content of all majors (one course) in the field of strategic management.
    • 25 ECTS credits are distributed among the major content, namely:
      • 10 ECTS credits for compulsory course content (predictably up to 2 courses).
      • 15 ECTS credits for optional course content (predictably up to 3 courses).
  • In the fourth semester
    • 15 ECTS credits are acquired through the diploma thesis
    • 15 ECTS credits are distributed among the elective course content, which can be completed in one of the following ways or in a combination of the following ways:
      • through major elective courses.
      • through university elective courses (only if the schedule permits it)
      • through courses from the ERASMUS+ mobility program or other types of mobility programs at other universities in accordance with the student’s approved study plan.
      • through student professional practice.

In addition to the common learning outcomes of the entire study, each course of the graduate university study Business Economics also develops specific learning outcomes, focused on the development of specific knowledge and skills, related to the field, which is dealt with in different studies: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, MANAGEMENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION, BUSINESS INFORMATICS, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
