Under-represented groups

The Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek provides equal opportunities in education and ensures conditions for quality and equally accessible education and successful study for all students. Underrepresentation in higher education is defined as a lower share of a certain group of students who are in the higher education system compared to population data. The needs of underrepresented groups of students require different forms of support – from information to everyday help, and this requires the involvement of different systems at the state level: education, social welfare, health and work.

Students with disabilities are considered students with: physical impairments, hearing impairments, visual impairments, mental impairments, multiple impairments, chronic diseases, specific learning problems such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, etc., other health conditions or difficulties that may affect the course of studies. Vulnerable groups of students include those who have a higher risk of exposure to difficulties in the form of academic or social integration and who have fewer opportunities for some aspects of studying. Among others, vulnerable groups include students who come from families of lower economic status.

The Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek takes special care of students from underrepresented groups. At the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, there is a coordinator for students with disabilities and students of lower socio-economic status, who provides them with information and support during the fulfillment of their student obligations.
