Dubravka Pekanov is a full professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, employed at the Department of Finance and Accounting. Her main areas of research are sustainable controlling and energy economics. She teaches several subjects at the undergraduate, master's and university specialist level of study. She has published more than 60 scientific papers independently or as a co-author and participated in the work of a number of scientific conferences in the country and abroad. From 2021 to 2025, she was an associate on the project of the Croatian Science Foundation called "Economic Challenges of the Transition Towards Low-Carbon Growth". As far as her professional engagement is concerned, she actively prepares feasibility studies (with cost-benefit analysis), investment studies and development strategies for the needs of the private and the public sector. For example, she participated in the preparation of the study Economic Effects of the Port of Rijeka (2025), Analyses of strategic sectors in the area Vukovar-Srijem County (2020) and the Study of the justification of granting a concession for the performance of chimney sweeps in the area of the City of Osijek (2016). She also contributed to the development strategies of local action groups, such as the strategy of LAG Vuka-Danube 2014-2020 and 2023-2027, and a series of investment studies for companies in the region. Since 2019, she has been the head of the lifelong learning program “Cost-benefit analysis”, and since 2023 she has been the head of the Financial Management study programme and head of the Business Excellence Center at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek.
