It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Prof. Emeritus Željko Turkalj, Ph.D., a longtime professor at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, a distinguished member of our academic community, Dean of our Faculty for three terms, and above all, our respected and dear colleague.
Professor Turkalj left a deep mark on the development of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, and the wider university community, through his dedicated teaching, scientific, professional, and leadership work. During his rich academic career, he also served as the Rector of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, making a significant contribution to higher education, science, and academic life in the city of Osijek.
Generations of students, colleagues, and collaborators will remember him for his knowledge, experience, and contributions to building the Faculty and University as we know them today.
