Hangout: COMMUNICATION THAT REALLY WORKS – A Call to Youth

Say it like you mean it – so they really understand you!  You know that feeling when you wanted to say something, but it came out completely differently? Or when you didn't understand someone properly at all – and everything went in the wrong direction?
It's time to change that.

YOUTH HANGOUTS: COMMUNICATION THAT REALLY WORKS

In a relaxed atmosphere, without “lectures” and theory that is forgotten the same day – we talk about communication as it really happens in life.

• through interactive exercises
• through real-life situations that we all recognize

• How to clearly state what you think (without conflict and misunderstanding)
• How to recognize bad communication – and what to do about it
• How to listen better (to truly understand, not just hear)
• How to react in uncomfortable or tense situations
• Tools you can use immediately – at school, at work, with friends and family

For young people who:

• want to express their opinions more easily
• fewer misunderstandings and more quality relationships
• They want to meet new people and exchange experiences.

What will it look like?
No pressure, no judgment, and no “you said it wrong.”.
This is a space where you can try, make mistakes, ask questions, and learn – with support and good energy.

The aim of the Hangout meetups is networking, learning something new, fostering new ideas and implementing activities for young people, as well as continuous development while encouraging them to step out of their “comfort zone”. Furthermore, young people expressed the need for continuous informal gatherings, in a relaxed and informal manner, which result in stronger youth activism.

The Hangout activities are part of the Regional Youth Info Center Osijek program, funded by the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth.
