Adria Business Forum 2026

The Faculty of Economics in Osijek is an academic partner of the Adria Business Forum, which will be held on June 16th in Zagreb.

Forum's keynote speaker, James A. Robinson, will give a lecture on the topic „Why Do Some Nations Fail and Others Prosper?“.

James A. Robinson is a Nobel laureate and co-author of the influential book Why Nations Fail, which will provide in-depth insight into the institutional, political, and economic causes of developmental differences between countries and offer relevant guidelines for strengthening global and national competitiveness within the lecture.

The forum will encompass a lecture and panels dedicated to the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of business models, changes in global value chains, and the redefinition of global economic relations in the context of growing uncertainty. Special emphasis will be placed on productivity, the institutional framework, innovation capacities, and the ability of companies to adapt to accelerated changes in the market and technological environment.

Furthermore, the role of Europe and Croatia in the new global distribution of economic and technological forces will be discussed, as well as the challenges brought by the energy transition, digitalization, and the need for human capital development. Forum participants will also consider ways in which public policies can stimulate the competitiveness of the private sector and create a favorable environment for investments and innovation.

Representatives of the academic community and the business sector are participating in the forum, including Darko Tipurić, Josip Muller, Velimir Srića, Mladen Vedriš, Nikolina Dizdar Čehulič, Vedrana Pribičević, Slavko Vidović, Nataša Nater Drvenkar, Kristijan Kotarski, Davor Štern, Gorki Bratim, Marijan Krpan, Matija Žulj, Dimitrije Trbović, Darko Jovišić, Martina Silov, Ivan Artuković, Mislav Crnogorac, Marijo Volarević, and Dubravko Merlić.

Successfully completed Erasmus+ project “Improvement of professional education programs in the field of management and administration by introducing and applying artificial intelligence, digital resource tools and their alternatives in the learning process"

The project's goal was to research, introduce, and apply modern, internationally relevant artificial intelligence tools and digital tools with the participation of international experts and industry practitioners.
