
The Faculty of Economics in Osijek, on Thursday, April 23rd, and Friday, April 24th, 2026, once again opened its doors to scientists researching the challenges of regional development and entrepreneurship, within the framework of 15. Region, Entrepreneurship, Development (RED) conferences. From its inception, the conference has been focused on addressing issues for which answers are sought in the synergy of the academic community, decision-makers and regulators, and industry professionals.
Under 15. RED Conference Scientists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Morocco, Germany, Poland, Portugal, and Serbia participated. Conclusions from 38 scientific and professional papers were presented, which explored topics of tourism, education, efficient healthcare system management, and financial market volatility.
Invited lecture, on the topic of "From Research to Relevance: Universities Driving Regional Development", held by a professor from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana, Prof. Dr. Sc. Metka Tekavčić. In the panel, which discussed the topic "Educating for Impact: Perspectives from Regional Faculty Leaders"deans and vice-deans of regional universities participated (Prof. Dr. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, Prof. Dr. Jernej Belak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selma Smajlović, Prof. Dr. András Takács, Prof. Dr. Valentin Toader, and Prof. Dr. Marina Trpeska). The panel was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Prof. Dr. Sunčica Oberman Peterka.
A workshop for all employees of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek on the topic of an innovative and entrepreneurial university (HEInnovate), led by Flávia Colus and Debora del Cogliano, was held on Friday, April 24, 2026.
