Ekonomski vjesnik / Econviews – Review of Contemporary Business, Entrepreneurship and Economic Issues is aimed at both scientists and practitioners. The journal publishes original research that contributes to theoretical, methodological, and empirical knowledge in the broad field of economics.

The journal welcomes papers based on quantitative and qualitative research methods, including empirical studies, methodological contributions, and critical reviews that synthesize previous research and identify open research questions in specific areas of socio-economic practice. Contributions may address different levels of analysis, ranging from individual case studies to research based on small or large samples.

Ekonomski vjesnik / Econviews encourages research conducted in diverse contextual frameworks, including small, medium, and large enterprises, industrial sectors, local, regional, and national economies, as well as the international economic environment. Topics may also cover economic branches, labour and demography, natural resources, and other socio-economic contexts.

The journal primarily focuses on the scientific fields of economics, business economics, and entrepreneurship. Given their close interconnection with related disciplines—such as information and technical sciences, law, sociology, psychology, and other social sciences—the journal also publishes multidisciplinary research that contributes to a broader understanding of economic and business phenomena.

Ekonomski vjesnik / Econviews is published twice a year (biannually).

Ekonomski Vjesnik / Econviews – Review of Contemporary Business, Entrepreneurship and Economic Issues strives to uphold the highest standards of academic publishing and expects the same from its authors.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are written in clear and correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts carefully language-checked prior to submission in order to ensure clarity and readability. This is optional and does not influence editorial decisions.

Submitted manuscripts must not have been published previously and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers should be submitted electronically through the Open Journal System (OJS).

Each submitted manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process conducted by two independent reviewers. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the entire review process.

Within the peer review process, papers published in the journal are categorized into one of the following types:

  • original scientific papers,
  • preliminary communications,
  • review papers.

All manuscripts must be written in English.

The manuscript template and detailed author guidelines are available here: Author Guidelines

EKONOMSKI VJESNIK / ECONVIEWS is a fully open access journal. All published content is freely available on the journal’s website. The journal does not charge any submission fees or article processing charges (APCs). Submission, peer review, and publication of articles and other contributions are free of charge for all authors.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that the following requirements are met:

  • The submission has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The abstract is between 100 and 250 words in length.
  • The manuscript length is between 4,500 and 7,500 words, including references.
  • The manuscript is written in clear and correct English. Authors are encouraged to ensure appropriate language quality prior to submission.
  • The submission includes two separate files:
    1. an anonymized manuscript, and
    2. a title page containing the full names of all authors, their affiliations, addresses, email addresses, acknowledgements (if applicable), and complete contact details of the corresponding author.
  • References are formatted according to APA style and are listed alphabetically by the last name of the first author.

Each submitted manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the entire review process.

Reviewers are expected to accept review invitations only if they have sufficient expertise in the subject area of the manuscript and are able to complete the review within the agreed timeframe (typically within six weeks). If these conditions cannot be met, reviewers should promptly decline the invitation so that alternative reviewers may be appointed.

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, institutions, or organizations associated with the manuscript. In cases of suspected ethical irregularities, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or other forms of research misconduct, reviewers are obliged to inform the editor without delay.

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not disclose, discuss, or use any information contained in the manuscript for personal or professional advantage or for any purpose other than providing an objective and constructive review.

Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of the author(s) is inappropriate, and assessments should be supported by clear arguments and, where relevant, references to the scientific literature.
