Prof. Željko Požega, PhD is a regular professor. He was born on 6 May 1979 in Našice. In 2001, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek. In 2002, he enrolled in the postgraduate scientific study in “Management” at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, where he obtained his master’s degree in 2005, defending his master’s thesis entitled “Fundamental Determinants of Human Resources Management at the Beginning of the 21st Century”. In 2007, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek with the topic “Impact Analysis of Various Segments of Human Capital on Economic Development of Countries of the World”. He published 98 scientific papers, both co-authorship and independently, and participated in 62 scientific meetings with presented work. The fundamental area he deals with in theory and practice is people management. Over the years, he has taught courses related to people management and leadership at a number of faculties and institutions at various undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies and professional trainings. He holds trainings or educations in the field of people management and leadership in more than a hundred companies, local self-government units and associations. He is the leader or collaborator of several scientific and research projects, and as a team member he participated in the creation of several development strategies. Furthermore, he is a consultant for many companies in certain areas of employee management (most often: systematization of workplaces, monitoring of work performance and salary structure, system of motivation and (de)stimulation of employees, selection of workers). So far, he has been engaged in several projects financed from EU funds as a consultant, educator or analyst of the labor market, socio-economic analysis and human resources management. He is the leader of various studies in the field of human resources, the labor market, the structure of entrepreneurs and economic operators.
