Nataša Šarlija has been employed at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek since January 1, 1995. She holds a Ph.D. in social sciences, specifically in the field of economics, which she earned from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb in 2002. Since 2018, she has been a Tenured Professor. Her research interests focus on credit risk management, credit scoring, high-growth firms, growth potential assessment, and predictive analytics. She is a member of the Croatian research team in the international Global Entrepreneurship Monitor consortium. She has led several research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and the Croatian Science Foundation. Throughout her research career, she has completed additional study training: (i) at the ZUMA Center in Mannheim, Germany, in 1994; (ii) at the ZUMA Center in Mannheim, Germany, in 1996; (iii) at Katz Business School in Pittsburgh, USA, in 2000; (iv) at Fachhochschule Pforzheim, Germany, in 2001; and (v) at Syracuse University, University of Wisconsin, and St. Louis University in 2006. From 2006 to 2008, she worked as an advisor at the Croatian National Bank in the Directorate for Direct Risk Management Supervision, where she also participated in drafting the Decision on Capital Adequacy. Nataša Šarlija took advantage of the opportunity for further professional development by completing two additional study visits: (i) at the Österreichische Nationalbank, "Basel 2 implementation," in 2007, Vienna; and (ii) at De Nederlandsche Bank, "Basel 2 implementation," in 2007, Amsterdam. She is the author of approximately 90 scientific papers and serves as a reviewer for relevant domestic and international journals.
