Mirela Alpeza has been employed since 2003 at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek at the Department of Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship. Since 2022, she has been working as a full-time professor and teaches courses at the graduate study in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Since 2011, she has also been working as the director of the SMEs and Entrepreneurship Policy Center – CEPOR in Zagreb. She has published more than 40 scientific and professional papers on the topic of entrepreneurship and SMEs. In the last 10 years, she has been dealing with the issue of family businesses, with a special emphasis on the challenges of the sustainability of businesses across generations, and the importance of building support for entrepreneurs in the process of business transfer. She is conducting research on this topic (Business Transfer Barometar Croatia), she speaks at international and domestic scientific and professional conferences, and holds workshops and consultations for entrepreneurs and institutions that represent an important component in the national business transfer ecosystem. She is a member of ECSB – European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of TRANSEO – European Association for SME Transfer. She participated as an expert in the development of the methodology for researching the transfer of business at the level of the European Union.
