Ljerka Sedlan-König was born on 1 February 1962 in Osijek. She has been permanently employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek since 1992. Since 2020, she has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship, teaching the courses Public Speaking Skills and Business Negotiation. She also works at the Center for Entrepreneurship Osijek, the London School of Public Relations and the Croatian Employers’ Association (PUMA program) as a workshop leader, trainer and lecturer on business negotiation, business presentations and sales techniques. From 2010 to 2012, she taught at the international summer school for the education of faculty members in the field of entrepreneurship as part of the European Entrepreneurship Educators Program (3EP). Ljerka Sedlan-König is systematically getting additional education and training. Her main areas of research are business communication, developing entrepreneurial behavior, entrepreneurial education methodology, business negotiation skills, public speaking skills and public relations, as well as student employability and the challenges of an aging population. She has published, both independently and in co-authorship, a number of scientific papers in magazines and anthologies, participated in two domestic scientific projects and one international project, and has presented papers at a dozen scientific meetings in the country and abroad. She also published four textbooks on business correspondence, negotiation, public speaking and business telephone calls. From 2015 to 2016, she was the head of the scientific research project Increasing the Employability of the J.J. Strossmayer University Students Through the Development of Entrepreneurial Competencies and Self-Efficacy. She is a member of the international scientific committees of three conferences, in 2018 she was in the Program Committee of the 4th Creative Treasury – creative industry popularization symposium, and in 2019 a member of the Communication Committee of the same symposium.
