Assoc. prof. Domagoj Karačić, PhD, was born on 19 December 1976 in Osijek. He finished elementary school and general education high school in Osijek, and graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek in 2000. In 2005, he obtained his master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek. From 2000 to 2005, he worked in several companies in the private sector (trade, auditing and entrepreneurship). Since 2006, he has been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek as an assistant at the Department of Finance and Accounting on the courses Public Finance, Local Finance, Public Sector Economics, Compensation Management, Public Debt Management and Comparative Tax System at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek. In 2011, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek and obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Social Sciences in the scientific field of economics. Since 2012, he has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, and since 2017 he has been an associate professor. He published 37 scientific papers independently and in co-authorship, participated in several domestic and international conferences and published three teaching materials for students. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Association of Accountants and Financial Workers – Osijek. He is a member of the Committee for Financial Operations and Budget at the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek. He is a member of the Fiscal Policy Committee.
