The Faculty of Economics in Osijek has signed another in a series of agreements on scientific and professional cooperation with renowned domestic companies, this time with the company Zvijezda. By continuing the long tradition of cooperation with the domestic business community and providing new opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills, EFOS has made an important step forward in expanding cooperation with renowned companies beyond the borders of Slavonia and Baranja. The cooperation agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. sc. Boris Crnković, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, and Tomislav Alagušić, President of the Management Board of the company Zvijezda.
The partnership we have established brings our students unique opportunities for practical learning, improvement and application of knowledge, and provides new opportunities to connect with the challenges of the business world, which will provide them with the foundations for future employment. With a long tradition of cooperation with the Croatian business community in providing a quality foundation for the academic and professional development of students and the creation of competent experts, EFOS continuously contributes to socio-economic development at the national level. The cooperation with the company Zvijezda demonstrates the efforts to expand business-academic synergy beyond Slavonia and Baranja to the entire Croatian economy.
On the occasion of the signing of the cooperation agreement, 2nd year students of the Marketing graduate study program, as part of the Marketing Strategy course taught by Prof. Dr. Sc. Marija Ham, had the opportunity to visit the production facilities of Zvijezda and PIK Vrbovec, where production managers provided them with insight into the complex processes of margarine, delicatessen and cured meat products production, and meat preparation, using the latest technologies and high industrial standards. The cooperation between the academic community and the renowned food company officially began with a student competition project in solving a business case and developing marketing strategies for the Planet of Plants brand, the first Croatian plant-based product line. These opportunities clearly reflect the commitment to connecting the academic and business communities with the aim of shaping young, talented professionals equipped with relevant skills and a deep understanding of contemporary challenges in the economic sector.
