Lecture by colleague Szilvia Kovács on the Hungarian startup ecosystem

Within the scope of the Global Economy course, on April 15, 2026, we hosted colleague Szilvia Kovács from the University of Dunaújváros in Hungary. Colleague Kovács delivered a guest lecture to third-year undergraduate students on a topic that combines global market theory with practical entrepreneurship.

The lecture titled "Startup ecosystems in Hungary: move from a raw idea to the early stage“ provided students with a detailed insight into the dynamics of the Hungarian startup scene. The focus of the presentation was on the key steps that young entrepreneurs must take to transform an initial concept into a sustainable business entity.

This guest lecture allowed 3rd-year students to hear a perspective from the neighborhood and compare Croatian and Hungarian approaches to entrepreneurship. Colleague Kovács's interactive approach stimulated a discussion on how similar models can be applied in a regional context. Guest lectures by international experts like colleague Kovács enrich our curriculum and provide students with direct insight into international trends, which is an essential segment of the Global Economy course.

We thank our colleague for the inspiring lecture and look forward to continuing our successful cooperation with the University of Dunaújváros.
