At the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, starting at 12:30 pm in the Faculty Council Hall to hold the 14th International Scientific Conference on Region, Entrepreneurship, Development. Over the years, the RED Conference has become an important platform for bridging the gap between academic research and practical solutions to the pressing challenges facing our regions and societies. Over the years, the conference has fostered dialogue and contributed to the development of policies and practices that foster sustainable development.
Introductory lecture entitled Redefining Regional Prosperity: Digital Transformation and the New Business Models will hold Prof. Dr. sc Marina Dabić from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, and in the panel titled The future of scientific conferences: Challenges, Problems, Opportunities will participate: prof. Ph.D. Bahrija Umihanić, Faculty of Economics in Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Nikša Alfirević, Faculty of Economics in Split, Prof. Davor Dujak, PhD, Faculty of Economics in Osijek and Prof. Dr. Sc. Anamarija Delić, Faculty of Economics in Osijek. The panel moderator will be Prof. Dr. Sc. Sunčica Oberman Peterka.
This year's proceedings of the RED 2025 conference include 31 papers by researchers from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain and Turkey. The papers address key issues such as the effectiveness of healthcare, regional economic disparities, the impact of macroeconomic variables on well-being, digitalization and the rural-urban divide, and the changing landscape of local governance. Special attention is paid to the intersection of technology and development, with research on artificial intelligence in startups, industry readiness for Industry 4.0, and the adoption of augmented and virtual reality.
