The World Youth Alliance Croatia invites all young people aged 18 to 30 to participate in the educational cycle ""Youth for dignity and human rights"", which has been implemented for many years with the aim of encouraging active reflection on fundamental social issues and moral and human values.
Education will take place through seven meetings, in the period from March to May, and during the program, participants will have the opportunity to analyze the works of authors such as CS Lewis, Karol Wojtyła, William McGurn, Václav Havel and Mary Ann Glendon, through which they will deepen their understanding of fundamental concepts such as human dignity, freedom, culture, solidarity and human rights. The program includes structured discussions in smaller groups, led by specially trained mentors, creating a dynamic and stimulating environment for the exchange of ideas, as well as the adoption of values that can help young people better understand themselves and society.
As part of the education, participants will be enabled not only to understand theoretically, but also to acquire practical knowledge useful in public and social activities, as well as activity in civil society as well as adoption advocacy skills. In addition to gaining a deeper insight into the concept of human rights and the terminology used in international institutions such as the United Nations, participants will have the opportunity to join the World Youth Alliance Croatia upon completion of the program and become involved in the organization of various education programs, projects and initiatives.
Through this program, young people are given the opportunity for personal development, improving argumentation skills, and actively participating in shaping a society based on the values of dignity and human rights.
One of the education leaders Ivan Knezovic points out that “education about human rights and human dignity is an excellent opportunity to meet many interesting authors, and through meetings we will talk and discuss what we have read”. He also describes his experience in leading the education: “Through the education, I try to introduce participants to the basics of philosophy and the most important arguments that can be used when discussing pressing social and political issues, such as the legal background behind the legality of abortion in the Republic of Croatia, the way international institutions operate, and topics such as the beautiful and the good in art. You can also expect interesting company and new people!” says Knezović.
Applications are open until March 10th, and all interested parties can apply via the application form at the link: https://forms.gle/TNRazeFjYKYHAJi8A
