On April 24, 2024, a presentation was held at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. Croatian startup associations, organizations that aim to strengthen start-up to the community in Croatia, share knowledge and resources, work on eliminating regulatory barriers to launching and developing entrepreneurial ventures, and put Croatia on the global map start-up communities. The lecture was delivered by Marijana Šarolić Robić, vice president of the Association and one of its founders. Marijana emphasized that the world of start-ups attracted and captivated her, "because once you enter it, you realize that anything is possible.".
After the Association's presentation, Ivan Rajković, the founder of a start-up, also shared his entrepreneurial story. Ghost from Valpova, founded in 2016, and which develops a product in augmented reality technology ("hand tracking technology"), recognizable in the global market. In addition to the story of the entrepreneurial venture, Ivan also shared his thoughts and experience with the students from the process of launching, managing, and developing the venture. One of the most important messages, emphasized by both Marijana and Ivan, is that people are the beginning and the end of every story, and that if we want to do great things, we can't do it alone. It is important to know how to bounce back after a failure, which is not a failure, but a lesson from which we can learn a lot.
The Faculty of Economics in Osijek is a member of the CroStartup association and has been working for many years to promote entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial mindset, as well as developing entrepreneurial education programs. Due to its international recognition in this field, it was awarded the UNESCO Chair for Entrepreneurship Education in 2008.
