Pointers Guardian case study

As part of the course International marketing, in collaboration with the company Travel Tips and its founder Krunoslav Weinpert, A case study was conducted focused on the development of an innovative security solution. Pointers Guardian. The project enabled students to apply their acquired knowledge to a real and current business challenge – the development and market positioning of a solution designed for use in crisis and emergency situations.

Pointers Guardian It is an autonomous security system designed to operate under extreme conditions, such as natural disasters and situations involving power outages, communication network failures, and infrastructure breakdowns. Unlike conventional solutions, the system is engineered to remain operational precisely when existing systems completely collapse.

The system is based on six renewable energy sources and supports multiple communication channels, including LTE, satellite connection, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, with the ability to receive radio signals. Built-in GPS, SOS function, light and heating additionally contribute to security and operational readiness in the field.

Through teamwork, the students analyzed the market, the competition, and potential users, with a special emphasis on the international market, and proposed strategic and marketing guidelines for the further development of the product. Special attention was paid to entry into the American market, planning a trade show booth, and communicating with decision-makers in the field of public safety and crisis management.

For the best solution, they took first place. Ema Dragić, Ena Dabić, Gabrijela Džebić, Marko Čulina and Mislav Đurković, whose work stood out for the clarity of its strategy, understanding of the market context, and the high practical applicability of the proposed solutions. Such projects confirm the importance of connecting academia and the business sector, enabling students to gain valuable experience working on real business challenges, while bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to industry partners.
