Innovativeness of the Project Solution in the Design Sector: A Case Study of Fabula Croatica
The lecture explores the role of design in shaping innovative project solutions within the creative industry, based on how design can foster collaboration between different sectors. The lecture is illustrated by a case study of the Fabula Croatica, Fabula Hvala, and Fabula Glagole projects—a platform unified by the Fabula Croatica project, which uses design to develop identity and cultural distinctiveness as well as international visibility. Special attention is paid to the connection between design and the application of contemporary technologies, aligned with sustainable development and the Circular Creativity Model. Through an analysis of the diversified sub-projects within the Fabula Croatica project, design is critically considered as a tool for integrating tradition, contemporary technology, and innovative business models.
The aim of the lecture is to evaluate the assumptions of an innovative business model from the Design sector, based on the innovations achieved in the analyzed case study. The concluding reflections encourage consideration of the role of the Design sector in the economic and social development of larger social communities. The final part of the lecture guides students in developing their own project proposals based on innovative solutions from the Design sector.
