
As part of the cycle of scientific-research workshops and lectures at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, on January 22, 2026, Prof. Dr. Daniel Newton, Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa, who held a workshop for teachers and researchers.
Prof. Newton presented the results of his research on the importance of "employee voice", i.e. the constructive communication of ideas and suggestions in the workplace, as a key driver of innovation, engagement and organizational learning. He also presented the results of an extensive meta-analysis on gender differences in the expression of ideas, highlighting how context, organizational culture and sense of safety strongly influence the willingness of employees to actively engage and put forward their suggestions.
During the workshop, Prof. Newton further emphasized the importance of active participation, open communication and engagement in scientific work, along with a series of practical tips based on his own research and rich international experience. He also introduced the participants to the benefits of membership in the Academy of Management (AOM), highlighting the numerous opportunities that this association offers, especially to young researchers, through conferences, workshops, mentoring and networking.
The cycle of scientific research workshops continues on February 13, 2026, when we will be visited by Prof. Dr. Luke Pittaway from Ohio University, a prominent expert in the field of entrepreneurial behavior and education, with a special emphasis on networking, business growth, and corporate entrepreneurship.
