
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the seventh meeting of the Economic Faculty's Business Council was held at the Economic Faculty in Osijek, where the new Faculty Administration was introduced to the members of the Business Council. At the meeting, the vice president of the Economic Council, Ms. Lejla Šehić Relić, one of the founders and executive directors of the social development organization DKolektiv (Volunteer Center Osijek), was elected. Prof. Dr. Sunčica Oberman Peterka, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, presented the Faculty's strategic priorities for the upcoming period, which include the enhanced development of internationalization, the application of innovative teaching methods, strengthening the quality of scientific work and connecting it with the needs of the business sector, and digitalization. The Dean for Science and Projects, Prof. Dr. sc. Julia Perić, informed the attendees about the Faculty's national reaccreditation process, highlighting that the final phase of the process is from November 25 to 27, 2025, when a visit is planned. Peer Review Teama. At the meeting of the Economic Council, prof. dr. sc. Ivana Bestvina Bukvić, Dean for Cooperation with the Environment and International Cooperation, presented the work of the Center for Lifelong Learning at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek and emphasized that the goal, in addition to aligning existing programs, the introduction of new lifelong learning programs in line with the interests and needs of the labor market. Additionally, Prof. Dr. sc. Dubravka Pekanov, head of the EFOS Center for Business Excellence, presented the work of the Center, which was established with the goal of connecting knowledge and practice.
As a reminder, the Faculty's Economic Council is an advisory body intended to help strengthen the connection between the scientific and professional efforts of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek and the business community, as well as contribute to the development of the Faculty's third mission. The establishment of the Economic Council was prompted by activities within the HKO project: Excellence and Efficiency in Higher Education in the Field of Economics (E4), which was successfully completed on March 22, 2022.
