Former EFOS students shared stories about their business beginnings at the panel "What after EFOS? First-hand experiences!"

Osijek, January 26, 2024 – The Office for Career Counseling and Career Development at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek held a panel entitled "What after EFOS? First-hand experiences!". The panel had the opportunity to present itself to former EFOS students who are today successful experts in various fields, such as finance, logistics, IT, entrepreneurship, marketing. Such initiatives are also welcomed by the Vice-Dean for Environmental Relations, International Cooperation and Projects, Prof. Sunčica Oberman Peterka, PhD, whose support for students who have successfully completed their studies at EFOS and set examples of good practice when entering the labor market, further reflects the importance of the event for encouraging the success of young professionals.

"Two years ago, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek established the Office for Career Development and Career Counseling, which organizes various activities intended for students. They want to help students understand the needs of the labor market, better prepare for that market (through the development of skills and knowledge), look at different career development opportunities and define their own career path. The panel discussion entitled What after EFOS? brings six young people, former students of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, who have built their career path in different ways. They will share their experience with the students, they will talk about the challenges they encountered in finding their first job, employment, finding their way in the work and business environment, and how the Faculty helped them prepare for "life after the Faculty", but also about what they would have done differently and what opportunities they might have used better while they were still students", she pointed out. Prof. Dr. Sc. Sunčica Oberman Peterka.

The panel was held for all interested students, especially for students in their final years of studies. Under the moderator's baton, Assistant Professor Daria Šebalja, Ph.D., the panel was attended by former EFOS students Emma Riedl, FRAMOS Technologies, Luka Bela, Mono,  Iva Liovic - Microsoft Croatia, Borna Belic – Technomodul, Karla Pavlovic, Teva Pharmaceuticals and Iva Pavlovic, Regina dizajn. They shared their experiences about their career path, current positions in the companies they work for, responsibilities, and provided useful advice to students on finding the job they want after graduation.

Successful integration of students into the labor market is one of the highest priorities of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. The faculty is working intensively on expanding study programs, establishing scientific and professional collaborations with local and regional employers, and organizing internships and trainings that support concrete steps in professional development after graduation. Accordingly, panels such as "What after EFOS? First-hand experiences!" provide an exchange of experiences of successful alumni and current labor market needs. "As a student, it is important to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. During my studies, I was given an incredible opportunity to start a professional internship that led me on a journey into digital marketing - a path that I am following today as a paid advertising expert at FRAMOS. Be present online, try to find internships, opportunities, and participate in extracurricular activities that our faculty offers. These activities have shaped and prepared me for the career that I have now. Keep up with trends and take advantage of all the opportunities that EFOS offers you - like this panel," she said. Emma Riedl, Paid Acquisition Specialist at FRAMOS Technologies.
