
Aware of the importance of cybersecurity, as well as the importance of education in this area, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek is implementing a project. CyberSafe@EFOS. The project began on January 27, 2025, with the goal of enhancing cybersecurity awareness among the Faculty's students and staff. The project's purpose is to raise the level of knowledge and empower students and staff to recognize and respond to cyber threats. In this way, the project will contribute to a safer digital environment for the Faculty and raise awareness of cybersecurity among future generations of professionals who will work in various sectors. Through a systematic approach to education, the project will help participants develop responsible habits and gain concrete knowledge that they will apply not only during their studies, but also in their future professional environments.
The expected outcomes sought by implementing this project include increased cybersecurity awareness among students and staff, enhanced readiness and ability to respond to threats, improved technical infrastructure for the Faculty, and a sustainable security culture.
The project leader is the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, and the project manager is Associate Professor Dr. Sc. Dario Šebalj (dario.sebalj@efos.hrThe CyberSafe@EFOS project runs from January 27 to July 31, 2025, and is funded by Erste Bank through the Erste Cyber Guardian – Security Operation Centre for Erste Bank Croatia (SOC4EBC) project, co-financed by the European Commission's Digital Europe program.
During March 2025, a workshop entitled will be held. Fundamentals of Cybersecurity, Aimed at faculty employees (academic and administrative staff), this course will provide participants with basic knowledge of recognizing various forms of cyberattacks, as well as the importance and methods of protecting digital data.
