Prof. Jerko Glavaš, PhD was born on 5 September 1981 in Osijek, Republic of Croatia. He graduated from the Secondary school of Economics and Administration Osijek in 2000, and in 2006 he graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, majoring in Marketing Management. He enrolled in the post-graduate specialist study “Organization and Management” at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek in 2006, and in 2008 he defended his final thesis entitled “Business systems based on knowledge management” and obtained the academic degree of university specialist in economics. At the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek in 2012, he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The role of knowledge in generating competitive advantage” and obtained the academic degree Doctor of Social Sciences in the scientific field of economics. As of 1 July 2006 until today, he has been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, from 2006 to 2013 as an assistant and senior assistant at the Department of Quantitative Methods and Informatics, and from 2013 as an assistant professor at the same department. During his studies, associate professor Jerko Glavaš, PhD was active in the Student Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, where he held the position of the president of the branch of the Student Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business and member of the Assembly of the Student Council of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University from 2002 until his graduation. He was also the President of the Assembly of the Student Council of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, as well as the President of the Student Council of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University and a member of the Croatian Student Council. He was also a member of the Senate of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and a student representative in the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek. During his studies, he was a student assistant in the courses “Beginnings of Economics” and “Fundamentals of Economic Theory” (course instructor: Prof. Ivan Ferenčak, PhD), and a member of the Osijek editorial staff of the Student Business Journal “Manager” of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. He is one of the co-founders of the Student Sports Association “EFOS” of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek and the first president, as well as one of the founders of the student newspaper InfoEfo and its business director. As an assistant, he was a member of the Department of Cultural Management at the Department of Cultural Studies of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. He is a member of the Local and Regional Self-Government Committee of the Croatian Parliament, a member of the Croatian Economic Association, the Croatian Marketing Association (CROMAR), the Croatian Association for Project Management, the Association of Accountants and Financial Experts Osijek, the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, the Rotary Club Osijek Josip Juraj Strossmayer, Matrix Croatica, SUH, UHBiH Prsten OBŽ, Karas Bilje Sports Fishing Association, Esseker Osijek Sports Fishing Association, member of the Executive Board of the basketball club Mursa Osijek, president of the Supervisory Board of the football club Olimpija Osijek, one of the founders of Krolo Basketball Academy and others membership. He actively uses the English language, has the ability to work on a personal computer and has a driver’s license. He has won numerous awards for his professional and social work. He is married and has one child (wife Vanja and son Fran). He is an active collaborator on several international projects. He is a permanent contributor and reviewer of several conferences and magazines in the country and abroad. He is also a member of the editorial board of several journals and anthologies, and has participated in more than 100 conferences in the country and abroad. He teaches at several faculties within the University, but also outside the University and abroad. He also teaches at several postgraduate specialist studies and postgraduate university (doctoral) studies. He is a member of several committees at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek and a member of the Council of the Doctoral School of the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek.
