Aleksandar Erceg, PhD is a full professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. He previously worked as Deputy Director of Procurement in two manufacturing companies in Osijek (Saponia d.d. and Kandit d.o.o.). During his 20 years of experience at Saponia and Kandit, his tasks included organizing the procurement department and managing the supply chain, cooperating with suppliers, customs authorities and logistics companies.
He received his PhD from the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek. The topic of his doctoral thesis was franchising and its impact on the growth strategies of entrepreneurs. Since 2016, he has been employed at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, at the Department of Management, Organization and Entrepreneurship. He participates in teaching several courses at different levels of study within his home institution and is a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Economics in Bihać.
He has published over 70 scientific articles in scientific journals, published one author's book and edited six scientific books. He is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Ekonomski vjesnik / Econ Reviews and several other editorial boards of foreign and domestic scientific and professional journals. His research focuses on entrepreneurship, franchising, operations management, lean thinking and the silver economy.
He is a member of the Expert Council of the Croatian Purchasing Association and Franchisors' Association at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. He is an external associate of the Center for Entrepreneurship in Osijek.
