On Friday, May 17, 2024, third-year undergraduate students of Economics and Business Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek visited the Center of Competence for Advanced Engineering (CEKOM) in Nova Gradiška and the PISMO Business Incubator in Novska, as part of the Global Economy course. This field trip was an opportunity to learn about the development of the gaming industry and robotics in Croatia, providing students with valuable experience.
CEKOM in Nova Gradiška focuses on enhancing economic development and competitiveness in eastern Croatia through research, development, and innovation (RDI). The center supports investments in new technologies and products and contributes to the sustainable development of the region. They showed our students what they do, and the most interesting were the metal 3D printer and the robots trained to assist in manufacturing processes.
The PISMO entrepreneurial incubator in Novska aims to develop entrepreneurial infrastructure in the Sisačko-moslavačka County. Focusing on the video game development industry, the incubator offers all the necessary resources and equipment to support entrepreneurs, encourage the founding of new start-ups, and create new jobs. Students were given the opportunity to try out the available video games and were guided through the entire center to understand the complete video game development process.
We would like to extend our special thanks to CEKOM for making this study visit possible!
