Adaptation of wine-growing zones of the Republic of Croatia to climate change

As in most Mediterranean countries, Croatia has been experiencing significant climate change in the last 30 years, in the form of an increase in the average annual air temperature and high variability in measured extreme precipitation, which have a major impact on viticulture. The purpose of the project is to increase the adaptability and reduce the vulnerability of Croatian viticulture to the impact of climate change on grape and wine production through a revision of Croatia's viticulture zones. The project aims to positively influence: a) minimizing damage to viticulture caused by climate change and b) exploiting the potentially positive impacts of climate change. The project lasts 36 months.
