
Last week, on June 6–7, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek hosted the 13th scientific conference. Regional Entrepreneurship Development (RED) conferences. Over 90 scientists from a dozen European countries participated in the conference, presenting 35 scientific papers from various fields – from regional development and management of small and medium-sized enterprises to entrepreneurial education and the importance of developing entrepreneurial competence for the development of every society. In addition to the scientific paper presentations, the conference featured several interesting keynote lectures and workshops. The first invited lecture, titled "Entrepreneurship and regional development: almost a controlled experiment," was delivered by a professor Dr. Leo-Paul Dana, one of the most cited scientists in the field of entrepreneurship. After him, the professor Ron Tuninga, Vice President and Managing Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region, AACSB International, delivered a lecture on the topic: "From Accreditation to Action: Transforming Universities with AACSB“
On the second day of the conference, a very interesting workshop was held on the topic: "HEInnovate for Modern Higher Education", on the importance of transforming higher education institutions into innovative and entrepreneurial ones, presenting the HEInnovate tool (www.heinnovate.eu), a tool developed more than 10 years ago as a joint project of the European Commission and the OECD. The workshop was conducted by Zsuzsa Jávorka, Managing Consultant, Thematic Lead for Higher Education, Technopolis Group and Adina Fodor, HEInnovate expert, Head of the Office for Inter-university Agreements at Babeș-Bolyai University.
The conference was organized in cooperation with partners from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, the co-organizers of the conference: the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Maribor, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tuzla, and the Business School of the University of Pforzheim.
