EFOS Business Forum
The Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek has for many years developed strong and dynamic cooperation with the business community, the public sector and the wider public. This cooperation represents an important basis for shaping a modern education that enables students to acquire practical knowledge, skills and business experience during their studies. Through educational workshops, guest lectures from experts in the field, professional practice, field teaching and projects, EFOS fosters direct connection between the academic community and the real sector. This ensures a better transfer of knowledge and creates opportunities for innovation, networking and joint development.
As a result of this collaboration, the EFOS Business Forum was established—an event that brings together representatives of the business community, experts, students, and the academic public to exchange ideas and foster economic development. Below, you can find summaries and content from previous editions of the EFOS Business Forum.

EFOS Business Forum"Artificial Intelligence – A New Era of Business",24/10/2024

Second EFOS Business Forum held on 24 October 2024, on the topic of Artificial Intelligence – a New Era of Business, was dedicated to the rapidly growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on business, innovation and global competitiveness of organizations.

The aim of the forum was to open a discussion on the opportunities and challenges brought by the application of AI technologies and to strengthen cooperation between the business sector, educational institutions and policymakers in shaping sustainable, ethical and competitive digital strategies.

The introductory lecture, entitled "Quo Vadis AI (Domine)❓", was held by Assoc. Prof. Robert Kopal, PhD, an expert in analytics and the application of artificial intelligence. In his presentation, he emphasized that, despite the technical feasibility of automating many jobs, the economic viability will limit its actual reach to approximately 23% of jobs. This opens up space for the development and upgrading of human competencies, instead of replacing them, making AI a tool that can improve the workforce, not replace it.

The lecture was followed by a panel discussion entitled "AI in the service of global competitiveness", which brought together experts from various sectors with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experience on the application of artificial intelligence in a real business environment.
