Osijek, November 22, 2023 – The Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, Prof. Dr. sc. Boris Crnković and the member of the Management Board of the Žito Group, Jozo Ljubičić, signed an agreement on scientific and professional cooperation, by which EFOS and Žito formally continue their long-standing partnership in the realization of common academic and economic goals. According to the established successful practice of EFOS, the cooperation is primarily focused on further improving the quality and modernization of study programs and exchanging professional knowledge and experience through professional practice. One of the key goals is precisely creating conditions for the development of professional staff and providing opportunities for the employment of promising young talents within the Žito Group.

Within the framework of such a practice, which has already grown into a recognizable tradition of the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, our students have the opportunity to acquire their first practical knowledge in the profession, meet potential future employers and secure a fundamental step for future career development already during their studies. Cooperation with Žita, as one of the most important food and agricultural companies at the national level, represents another key step in strengthening the synergy between the academic and economic community in Slavonia and Baranja. Accordingly, we are convinced that this cooperation will greatly enrich the spectrum of competences of our students, but also contribute to the development of the staff of this company, which has employed a truly large number of our alumni so far," he said. As one of the companies that symbolizes food and agricultural production in Slavonia and Baranja, but also in the wider region, Žito Group will provide EFOS students with valuable knowledge and experience through practical training, case studies, providing data for teaching exercises, and market research on its own products. On the other hand, Žito will, within the framework of this cooperation, have the opportunity to present itself to students as a desirable employer and to meet, select and develop young talents who will form an integral part of the company's professional staff in the future.
