The aim of the course is to familiarize students with all relevant aspects of the legal regulation of transport as a professional activity in modern market economies. The essential features of each type of transport are analyzed: road transport, rail transport, air transport, maritime transport and inland waterway transport. Students are given the opportunity to expand their knowledge of all significant legal aspects of transport, such as the sources of transport law, the legal regime of carrier liability, contracts in the field of transport, legal relations in transport, as well as specific institutes of transport law. Transport insurance law is also studied in particular. Special emphasis is placed on the legal work of freight forwarding as an indispensable economic activity in all international cargo transport systems. The issues of transport law are especially analyzed in light of the compliance of domestic transport law with global standards and the law of the EU single market (European transport law).

1. Determine the domestic and international normative framework as well as the fundamental legal relations of transport law and forwarding.
2. Analyze individual institutes of transport law and transport insurance.
3. Compare branches of transport (similarities and differences of individual institutes, key persons, transport documents, liability for damage).
4. Apply the acquired knowledge in practice in specific tasks of transport, forwarding and transport insurance.
