Goal

To enable students to:

  1. Acquire knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, and phenomena in the planning of regional development of the country,
  2. Critically analyse and understand the dynamic development processes and performance of the regional, Croatian, and European economy; and
  3. Apply the acquired fundamental knowledge and skills in further academic development, alongside an understanding of essential development dilemmas and possible directions for future development.

  1. Critically assess the applicability of economic policy measures to economic growth and development, interpret them, and analyse various assumptions of regional policy and regional economic growth and development within a European context.
  2. Determine shifts in productivity at the regional level.
  3. Understand the impact of contemporary trends and phenomena from the environment and interpret their influence on the regional economy.
  4. Compare and classify different types and instruments of regional economic policies and functionally connect them into conclusions regarding applicable economic growth strategies.
  5. Explain the function, role, and impact of the EU's regional policy on economic growth and development.
