Labour economics

Goal

This course encompasses the efficiency of the labor market through the analysis of the relationship between labour supply and demand, taking into account contemporary trends. It is essential to study labour supply and demand, taxes and transfers related to the labour market, wage formation policy and negotiation among economic-social partners, the method of minimum wage formation in the Republic of Croatia (RH) and the EU as well as its impact on the economy, labour mobility (internal and external), the educational structure of the labour force (and the working-age population), inequalities in the labour market, employment and unemployment, and the prerequisites for achieving full employment.

  3. To examine and compare measures and policies aimed at increasing employment in Croatia and the European Union.
  4. To categorise the types and causes of employment and unemployment, taking into account contemporary labour market challenges.
