Business English 2

Goal

The aim of this course is to build on the acquired knowledge of general English (minimum level B1 according to CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) with basic business terminology in English and to acquire language skills related to understanding basic business concepts and global business trends, and accordingly to create a foundation for business oral and written communication in English in modern business environments. Furthermore, the course systematizes grammatical structures typical of business English and systematically develops and practices receptive skills (reading intermediate-level professional texts, active listening and comprehension) and productive skills (speaking, discussing audio and video materials; writing basic business formats). The ultimate goal is to make students aware of the importance of improving their own language knowledge and to encourage them to self-study and lifelong learning/improvement of business English.
