Entrepreneurship is one of the eight key competences for lifelong learning (as defined by the European Union: http://europa.eu/legislation_summaries/education_training_youth/lifelong_learning/c11090_en.htm), which all individuals need in order to be successful in life. Entrepreneurship is the ability to turn ideas into action, it includes successful management of projects, innovativeness and creativity, and risk-taking (responsibility for the consequences of the decisions taken). All study programmes in entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek look at entrepreneurship precisely in this way.

Graduate study Entrepreneurial Management and Entrepreneurship focuses on entrepreneurial, proactive and innovative thinking based on recognizing opportunities and taking responsibility in the environment where the individual lives and works. Upon completing the Entrepreneurial Management and Entrepreneurship study programme, students acquire competences for problem solving, embracing change and proactive action in all situations and contexts (small and medium-sized companies, large companies, non-profit organisations, public sector, state-owned companies) and in all industries (banking, food processing, agriculture, tourism, construction, etc.).

Graduate study Entrepreneurial Management and Entrepreneurship also offers students an understanding of the process of connecting ideas and opportunities into business ventures, provides experience through participation in the competition for the best business plan, participation in the volunteer programme, activities of the Legal-economic clinic, and activities of the student association EWoB (Entrepreneurs Without Borders), thus enabling them to start their own ventures, as one of the options for own career development.
